Finding My Voicce

I’m not sure if anyone noticed that I always mute my videos. I hate how my voice sounds and how slow I speak. But then I was asked to talk in front of a bunch of medical professionals, and I accepted because I figured it would be less embarrassing to do it in front of people who work with patients like me and they won’t be focusing on how I sound. But I’m so proud of how good I did that I don’t even care that I sound ridiculous …

I was invited to share my survivor story with the doctors and nurses who attended the Post-Arrest and targeted temperature management conference. I recently learned that I had benefitted from this therapy when I went into cardiac arrest last March. TTM is used in patients who have had cardiac arrest by lowering the body temperature to 91° preserve and promote brain function.
